I wanted something smaller than a Thor, and not shaped like a lightsaber. This pointer is ok for the price. It shows around 1600mw on my LPM, as advertised. Mine has a minor issue with the focus behaving oddly when screwed to a certain position, but it doesn’t affect the pointer’s operation. The beam is off-center slightly, which could be an issue for some people but wasn’t a big deal to me. It has turned itself off a couple times for no obvious reason, it wasn’t the batteries, but I don’t know enough about these to troubleshoot it. It always starts working again, although sometimes it takes a minute or two. This might be just a soldering issue or something similar on mine, I really don’t know. Heat will often be a problem for these smaller-sized hosts. You can’t leave them on for very long at a time, and you must let them cool down before turning them on again.
Overall, I like how powerful and bright it is. I like how inexpensive it is, and how small it is. I like that it looks inconspicuous. I can put up with it shutting itself off occassionally, as it doesn’t happen often. This was a pretty good buy, I’m satisfied with it.
